What is a PEX manifold system?
PEX manifold systems are now used by more and more people today, as the main installation for water supply inside their homes. Due to this fact, the market for PEX plumbing manifolds is increasingly large. Prices for the PEX tubing manifold however are not low in compared to other fixtures.
This product is a relatively new invention on the pex market fixtures, and it will pass quite a few years until you will see such products at the low prices other pex installs sell for today. PEX manifold systems may be expensive but are very useful when it comes to fixtures for large homes. In fact the PEX plumbing manifolds can be used not only for large homes and large buildings, but also for smaller homes or apartments. The small PEX plumbing manifolds generally have no more than 3 inches in size, while the big manifolds have up to 8 inches in size.
It is all about the number of pipes that enter this fixture. For large buildings the number of pipes will be larger thus a bigger manifold will be required.
All the pipes around the house will be connected to this system instead of connecting the pipes directly to main water sources. This way, the pressure inside the pipes can be easily controlled and pipes are unlike to damage.
Adjusting the pressure becomes also very easy because the pipes have individual valves. This way, for water flowing on the lower floors the pressure required is a lot lower than the pressure needed for pipes who supply water on the top floors.
Another important aspect of manifolds is that they are capable of controlling all the water supply around the house. In this manner, it becomes significantly easier to turn on or off the water from a specific pipe, instead of shutting down the whole system.
