The tasks of pumping out water from underground have been going on since ages. Underground water comes from the rainwater that oozes down via rocks, loose gravel and soil. Various types of well pumps are available in the market and there are various accessories also available for this purpose. There are some submerged and above ground pumps available that are known as jet pumps which remain beyond the ground. The principal of suction is used by these in order to pump out water from the ground and store in a tank. A vacuum has to be created in order to get water from ground. Various submersible pumps are also available that work in a different way. There is a unit which is very long in size and cylindrical in shape fitted in the casing of well. A sealed pump motor is there at its bottom that helps to push up the water to the pipe.
Storage tanks are used to hold pumped water into it so that it can be used afterwards. The life of pumps is prolonged if the size of the tank is large. This is due to the fact that the pump is required to work less often if the size of the tank is bigger. Sometimes a lid is required to be chosen in case the unit needs to be removed. Due to this, small animals, debris, rodents and dirt as well can be prevented up to a large extent to enter into the well.
There are various accessories available for deep well pumps in the market. Stainless steel and brass fittings are required for connecting everything. Brass is preferred by some people in order to prevent corrosion of metals but for this purpose stainless steel can also be very helpful. A collection of fittings are used to connect pipes and screw clamps are also used or this. Some other hardware including mounting bolts are also useful for the security of the pump. Flow control valve and pressure reducing valve set up the quantity of flow and also help to check everything in control. A meter is also required to check the settings and in order to maintain the pressure; water level control system is also used. For the safety of electronically driven pumps, a source for power and electrical disconnector is also required at the site of the pump.
