A PEX plate heat exchanger is a unit used to transfer heat from one medium to another. Such units are incorporated with thin, multiple and slightly separated plates that have large surface areas and passage for fluid through which heat can be moved.
A flat sheet is considered much effective in comparison to other designs such as tube and shell that are being present for same use. It is even easy to install such units. They can be incorporated either in a gasket form or permanently. Permanent installations are made in refrigeration whilst the gasket one is much suitable for units that require frequent cleaning and inspection work. For these reasons, the Brazed plate heat exchangers are used only in flat shape and in applications such as radiant floor heating, electrical insulation and even in refrigerant cooling systems. Besides this, there are more other advantages that are served by these plates that can be explained as follows:
- The wide space of flat plates helps in continuous movement of heat flow. It helps in warming up much wider space in less span of time thereby reducing the energy consumption of overall system.
- Using PEX plate heat exchangers facilitates the heat transfer process. This is done as it speeds up the temperature during the phenomenon of heat transfer.
- There are two specialized designs present of these plates, they are semi welded, welded or brazed exchangers or there are corrugated plates made of metals that have two chambers. Such units don’t have a regular pipe equipped in them.
- Every single plate in such exchangers is free from corrosion as it is made up of metals such as stainless steel.
The PEX plate heat exchangers are flexible units that speed up the heat transfer process if used adequately. So to make their heat transfer systems more effective, people must incorporate them in their own systems.
